Control Chart Gadget like Jira Agile default Control Chart

Issue #138 resolved
Luiz Carlos de Souza Leite created an issue

We need a Control Chart Gadget like the Jira Agile default Control Chart, that shows both “in progress” and “done” issues as current cycle time.

The problem is that the default is not configurable, like the gadget, to show cycle time in days. 72 issues = 5w 1d = 5 * (5 or 7 days) + 1 day = 26 or 36 days

The problem with the gadget is that don’t include both “in progress” and “done” issues like the default. 41 issues = 27,99 days

We need these indicators to match to be used in our continuous improvement process.

    Hi Luiz,

    Thanks for posting.

We are currently evaluating the possibility of adding a new option to Cycle Finishes. Something like Cycle Finishes = “When the issue entered in its current status”.

When using this option, it will also display the “in progress“ issues along with the “done“. And if Cycle Starts is set to “When the issue was created” OR “When the issue entered in a status that has category New" it will display the issues from “To Do“ statuses.

Can you please check and confirm that this will fully address your request?

    Thank you,

    Danut Manda

Hi @Luiz Carlos de Souza Leite ,

We added this new option (experimentally for now, it is not yet documented) to the Control Chart gadget.

Can you please do some tests at your side and give us your feedback?

    Looking forward for your reply.

    Thank you,

    Danut.

    Hi @Danut M [StonikByte] ,

Even with the new option I could not reproduce the same filter as the default chart from Jira.

I forced myself to analyze only the completed issues, in this way, the new filter became unnecessary for my purpose.

Basically what I wanted was a copy of the default, but showing the average in numeric days instead of this ridiculous format of weeks, days and hours. (I opened this suggetion to Jira https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-22334)

Furthermore, the gadget lacks the moving average and the standard deviation, which greatly enrich the graph and its analysis.

    Hi Luiz,

Can we have a short Zoom call about this, so that I can understand what exactly is missing?

If yes, please send an email to support@stonikbyte.com and we will send an invite.

    Thank you,

    Danut Manda

Out Control Chart gadget was extended to display Rolling Average and Standard Deviation and it now supports additional cycle calculation methods, which makes it fully cover the functionality of Control Chart Jira’s report and much more.

    Danut.
