Sprint Burndown Chart loading incorrect numbers

When I open my dashboard with the Sprint Burndown Burnup Chart, the numbers it loads into the chart are incorrect (it only loads 0-4 points instead of all 35 points in sprint). If I hard refresh, it continues to show the same incorrect numbers. I can temporarily fix this by editing the dashboard > configuring the gadget > clicking refresh cached data at next display > saving and clicking done > hard refreshing the dashboard > successfully see 35 points in the gadget. However after a few minutes if I refresh the dashboard again it reverts to incorrect numbers.

It seems like when it succeeds, the loading screen says “Processing…”, and when it fails the loading screen says “Processing latest changes…”, though I am not 100% this is a consistent pattern.

Please also provide a screenshot with the gadget settings and one with the configuration of the agile board (Board Settings > General tab).

Can you please try once again checking the option for refreshing the cached data? This should solve.

A scenario when this could happen is when another Jira user that has less permissions (and cannot access all the issues from the sprint, but only some of them) accesses the same gadget or a gadget with the same settings, in parallel with you. Do you think that this might be the case?

As I’ve said, this solves it temporarily but after a few minutes, refreshing the page reverts it to the incorrect numbers.

No. This is the only Great Gadget in the organization, and everyone with view permissions for this dashboard should have full access to the sprint tasks. Also, this was occurring while the dashboard was private to only me.

I do not see Board Settings > General tab. Attached are the settings options I do see. Please advise what you wish to see.

Hi Thena,

As far as I can see, the gadget is configured to calculate by a custom field named “Burndown points (autocalc)“…

Can you please configure a similar gadget but with “Calculate by” set on “Issue count” and check if the issue persists?

If it does not reproduce, then we have to look in more details at “Burndown points (autocalc)“. In this case, please provide more details about that field and its configuration. Is it an automatically calculated field introduced by an 3rd party app?

The issue was also present when it was on the default field Story point estimate, before I changed it to my custom field Burndown points. However, the issue is no longer present. Nothing has changed, it just seemed to resolve itself after about 48 hours. I anticipate that whatever caused this bug is still out there, and may affect other first-time set ups for other organizations. But without a way to reproduce, I’m totally fine with you closing this ticket.

Please keep an eye on it. It might happen when you start a new sprint, only in the first and/or second day…
