Burnup Burndown Chart Macro 429 Error

Issue #99 resolved
Heth Siemer created an issue

We have a very large instance of Confluence & Jira and have recently added Great Gadgets to our Add-Ons for Jira. This ported over some (wonderful) macros to our Confluence instance, however, about a week ago, the Burnup Burndown Chart Macro stopped working and started giving us the following error on ALL attempts to use this macro on any page, whether it’s a new macro or a macro that was recently added. There are no issues with any of the gadgets in Jira.

We installed Great Gadgets specifically because our funding group wanted THIS macro, so it’s kind of a critical issue for us right now.

What does this error mean and how can we fix it?

Confluence 7.4.6

Jira 8.13.2

    Hi Heth,

    Thanks for posting.

The error code means “Too many requests”. This could be due to the large data to be retrieved.

Please install the latest app version 1.24.0. In the latest versions we optimized some of the queries, so this might help.

Let me know if this makes any difference.

    Hello Team,

We are on version 1.25.0 and still get the error when we try to add 'Kanban Velocity Gadget’ Macro.
Let me know if you want us to try anything else.

    Thanks,

    Rama

    Hi Rama,

Can you please provide a screenshot with the error. Also please look in atlassian-jira.log and copy the error details.

    Thanks Rama.

The error seems to be thrown when the gadget retrieves the agile boards. Error code 420 means “Too Many Requests”. We will investigate the error. Do you have a very large number of agile boards?

Meanwhile, can you please try using the Filter option instead of Board? Just try selecting the board’s filter (it has the same effect as when selecting a board). Let me know if this works.

This seems outdated. If the issue persists on the latest version of Great Gadgets, please reopen this ticket.

    Thank you, Danut M.
