HX Command Bridge

This "cockpit" is obviously far future, I'll make the Mk5, S3 and overhaul the rest before making it.

So you've made a HX spacecraft in orbit, it's huge, it's imposing, and you're controlling it from a tiny cockpit? This won't do.

HX spacecraft aren't cheap, they're not overly practical or utilitarian, thus why not make the "cockpit" suitably... Space opera.

My idea is as follows, use: http://i.imgur.com/kCVP3NG.png

As a base (or something similar) and basically put something akin to the glass bridge of a cruise ship (Because Tav loves cruise ships):

On the front

Incredibly rough sketch:

Basically a glass box in front of the current model (or similar model) affording pretty spectacular visibility, it will obviously have some metal structure to hold it together (gray lines I tried to draw joining at the center and angled outwards radially like the spokes of a wheel). My 2d sketching skills are poor so it's hard to see but the overall shape I tried for is a rectangle with the front face shrunk somewhat to make the top and bottom sides angle forwards a a bit a bit like an angular D.

I might make a very quick 3d blockout later.

What would the IVA be like? I'm thinking something like a Macross bridge: https://warosu.org/data/tg/img/0340/11/1407614187323.jpg

Pretty similar as well to star-trek bridges but with glass windows instead of walls and a view screen.

Basically a big open space with individual crew stations meant for different tasks, and possibly a lone chair with less controls for a "captain" (But you can still fly the craft from one seat).

Kerbals can't stand up so the stations would be seated. The stations would basically have a chair in the center (that can turn 180 degrees) and a bank of MFDs and other controls in a semi-circular setup wrapping around their mid to lower field of view, with the mid to high field of view clear to see out the windows. Some of the stations could differ a bit from the rest in layout to make it clear they're for a different task (Pilot seat front and center could have large physical controls instead of something smaller for the other stations)

Yeah basically, though with pronounced side protrusions like a cruise ship to give a somewhat hammerhead shark like outline, and the ability to see somewhat backwards.
