Error during auto exploration and character stopped moving then unable to escape auto exploration mode

During auto exploration an error happened, the player character stopped moving. The game remains stuck in auto exploration mode with a message to press any key or mouse to stop auto exploration mode but pressing any of the keys or mouse buttons doesn't stop auto exploration mode.
