Melee Slinging did not work at all (even knowing how Melee archery works)

With melee archery, I could target other enemies, just not my melee target. With melee slinging, that doesn't work, so I can't shoot anything, despite having the skill.

I originally thought this was intentional, but when reading the skill description it seems to indicate that slings should work. Either the game logic needs to be corrected or the skill description needs to be corrected. I can confirm that this bug is still in 1.0.0
