Darkness Implementation?

No bug report, but save file attached. I'm doing the kobold mission from the mercenaries guild, and couldn't find a way down to the 2nd level -- but the save attached has more to do with what appears to be darkness being implemented in some fashion? But there are walls around the darkness too.
I'm not sure if that's darkness or something else but I thought it worth mentioning.

OK, save file may not be useful. I reloaded and it’s not there anymore, and I didn’t grab a screenshot. Sorry! can only report what I saw at this point. If I see it again I’ll grab a screenshot and attach it.
