Proposal for more random encounters & a solution to being over leveled

Quick idea for a random counter first:

I’d like to see an NPC offer a buff to the player and if you accept they come back 2 floors later to “collect” by forcing you to pick 1 of 3 curses. One random curse that would be rough is, the next two new floors the player enters earns 0 exp. Obviously some players would race through those floors and miss out on all of the loot. Not sure what the others could be, but boons and buffs that change gameplay or build-plans are great., and making the player pick their poison is great

Being over leveled is kind of nuts. At ~35+ dragons are a nothing but rich lizards. I think if you beat the game in over so-many turns some evil ritual should be half complete and you need to fight a clone of the player to really win. This would always allow for some challenge at the end. As oppose to throwing on shock immunity and turning everyone into pink dust, which is how some of my games end.

My two cents: The encroaching corruption serves as a deterrent to over-leveling as does the decreased exp efficiency of low level monsters. More quests and challenges would be good. More high level lairs in the late game would be excellent. Also, it might be wise to penalize scoring and faction progress more harshly for turn count.
