Pathfinding doesn't work through undiscovered tiles

Issue #697 new
Kevin Coghlan created an issue

Example screenshot attached. Moving mouse cursor to any of the tiles west of the black undiscovered tile and clicking there results in no movement at all. The problem seems to be the single undiscovered tile between character and destination.

I am guessing this is by design. It doesn’t seem like you should be able to auto-path through unexplored tiles.

Agree that if this behaviour is by design and the devs don’t want to change it, the ticket could be resolved.

For what it’s worth, when using the mouse to play, it feels to me that auto-pathing ‘ought to work’ in straightforward situations like the screenshot. From the tiles that are already visible, it is obvious to a human that the undiscovered tile on the corridor corner is likely passable. As it stands, mouse-based play is frequently interrupted by such situations.

“likely passable” - it could be blocked by a crystal or a mushroom, just to pick some examples off the top of my head.
