Scored deadly hit against mysterious shade

A few turns after talking to the mysterious shade on the first dungeon level, I noticed in the log (bottom right of the screenshot) that I had apparently “scored a deadly hit against the mysterious shade”.

I’m not sure how that could have happened, since I simply talked to the shade, received the harvesting ability as normal, and the shade disappeared as normal. The issue had no adverse effect upon gameplay as far as I can see, but something presumably went wrong to generate that log.

In case it’s of any use, I kept the save and can upload if it’s helpful. The log message I mentioned is visible in the attached screenshot.
