reporter Initiated a request to csgenome to have this temporarily redirected to http://www.princeton.edu/~abarysh/treeview/

I think I will update the http://www.princeton.edu/~abarysh/treeview/ page at release (shorter description + link to download the software). Ideally, the place that stores the software would also have a) a signup option to received updates about newer versions, b) easy commenting/feedback tool. Can bitbucket do it? If not, do you guys know of another platform?

reporter Bitbucket requires people to have accounts. One I looked up on the outset (whose free version does everything we would need) is uservoice. They can vote for feature requests there too. There might be other places. I know Lance was concerned about using a proprietary site because you might have to start paying or they would go away. uservoice's site says that it's free version is free forever, but you never know.

The redirect appears to be working, so I'll mark this resolved. If we want a stand-alone site, we can create a new ticket.

Ok, then one easy solution is to distribute the software from treeview.princeton.edu (which is http://www.princeton.edu/~abarysh/treeview/ for now, but eventually would probably separate). We already have a signup sheet there. And we will advertise treeview@princeton.edu as the main destination for comments. I think that's easy & simple. The only thing is that commenting won't be anonymous and might stop people from doing it. This problem can be solved as well, but requires a bit more work.

Right now, this domain forwards to http://www.princeton.edu/genomics/, so it's "parked". We just have to decide where it should go.
