Live-update the labels during split-pane divider drag

Making split-pane divider adjustments via click & drag would be more intuitive and easier to tweak if the labels were displayed and smoothly updated during the drag. There are a few cases to consider:

Column labels pane:
1. Dragging the divider down.
1a. When the labels are bottom-justified
    Currently works well - nothing more to do for this.
1b. When the labels are top-justified
    Labels shift after the divider is released so that they are still top-justified.  It would be nice if the labels moved with the divider.
2. Dragging the divider up.
    Currently the hint is displayed for both cases below
2a. When the labels are bottom-justified
2b. When the labels are top-justified
