Rendering ellipse sometimes stops

Sometimes when the renderer is drawing ellipses, they will stop rendering until a rect is drawn.

    I see this issue as well on my original iPad running iOS 5 and the latest Codea. Ellipses *only* draw after I've drawn a rect.
