Unusable installation when selecting separate /usr partition
Symptoms:
-
The system will boot but is totally useless. No mouse/keyboard, so unable to log in when booted to init 4
-
When booted to init 3, still can't log in even with correct credentials... The shell does not echo what you type for user name
-
When booted to init 2, it will allow logging in and basic command-line operation.
-
/etc/fstab file looks good (as in it should work)
How to reproduce:
-
Install using Advanced mode and select a separate partition for /usr
-
Boot to GUI or TUI
NOTE: Init2 is not a default boot on option on the menu. It requires editing one of the entries to boot to it.

reporter Update:
The may be used as a temporary work-around until a permanent fix is implemented. Copying /usr/lib/libkmod* to /lib fixes the problem.

reporter - changed status to resolved
kmod place rootlibs in the corret place to fix

My first guess: is stuff that belongs to /bin in /usr/bin ? /usr will not be available at boot so anything thats required for booting should go to /bin
