xf86-video-trident will not load
Found in Xorg.0.log posted in http://forum.vectorlinux.com/index.php?topic=18876.0
It's a known issue with xf86-video-trident https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57996
You can check commits at http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-trident/ I'm thinking 1.3.7 is the answer, but patches for 1.3.6 can be made, of course.
At this moment, the http://ftp.x.org link in our sb LINK= isn't working. Waiting to see if that's temporary before offering a replacement.

reporter Update:
Updated xf86-video-trident to 1.3.7 on x11's veclinux-7.1 branch, and changed all LINK's to http://www.x.org/releases. Full build of x11 for 7.1 is running now. -
reporter Build succeeded, but there's no confirmation of whether the driver works. I'm guessing that it does, but requires extra configuration.
Can we get xf86-video-trident-1.3.7 in untested archived somewhere so that it can be uploaded to untested after a purge? This will prevent rebuilding all of X to get it again.

reporter In the case of the user in the forum post above, the display worked only when trident drivers were removed. For 7.1, it won't load anyway as-is. No idea what this means for 7.2, which already has 1.3.7.
For now, I'm reading this as just one particular case.
