With wireless enabled, wired disabled, can not run X programs.

Issue #51 resolved
nightflier created an issue

A0.2.4 32-bit, auto, vm or real hw.

This is weird, but consistent: If I connect wifi, then disable wired connection, I can not launch X apps. Trying to run them from a terminal, I get error:

No protocol specified
xterm: Xt error: can not open display 0:0

The second line varies depending on application, but always indicates unable to open display or connect to X server.

If I re-enable wired connection, then things return to normal.

Also, if I disconnect both wired and wireless, things work normally.

I was having similar issues. I reset my hostname via vhostname and everything has been fine since.

I also ripped the hostname out of the hosts file as well.

Further testing: It does not matter if I disconnect eth0 using the network-manager-applet, or physically disconnect the network cable.

I removed packages NetworkManager and network-manager-applet, installed wicd. Problem goes away.

Removed wicd, re-installed NetworkManager and network-manager-applet. Problem returns.

Edited /etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf as suggested in IRC channel, un-commenting keyfile and hostname lines.

Rebooted, and problem has not asserted itself since.
