Debug menu only works once | Adding custom assets partially broken

Replacing existing assets works fine, but adding in custom assets such as additional eyes, mouths, cloaks, eyebrows, etc. is currently broken. Some custom assets can be accessed via character creation at the start if they are part of that category, but become inaccessible in the player debug menu. This goes for some vanilla assets as well, such as gfMouth12.

Opening the debug menu works once per session.
