Issue #388 wontfix

Hi,

Ambassador options (Send Alert, Kick, Mute, etc.) should not work in Private Rooms.

It should only work in Public Rooms.

On top of this, to my understanding Ambassador may also moderate certain private rooms too. So there should be a option in the rooms table to allow this.

Ambassadors may also enter locked rooms if this option is enabled.

AFAIK, ambassador rights are sent in client globally, not for every room individually. Also, I find it useful for all-rooms-wide ambassadors.

@theoleg I know where you're coming from but Arcturus is aiming to be a exact copy of Habbo. Thus, I decided to leave some info on how Ambassador permission works after confirming with a few close friends whom are (ex) Ambassadors on .COM.

The reason why Ambassador permission should not apply to private room is the prone of it to be abused. Since Ambassador permissions are given to non Staff member of the hotel, and their main goal is to ensure a smooth transition of new Habbos, then granted they would have certain permission only in Public Room and certain Private Rooms (usually Official Events).

@Wesley12312 , Ambassadors may only utilise their permissions in Public Rooms and Rooms selected by Staff.

I would prefer if this could be selected based on the hotels choice. For example. In my hotel "Ambassador" is rank 3, Not quite staff but kinda staff.... Useful for "interns" to have some ability, without getting the full bang mod tool and commands etc.

If this feature gets disabled, please make it optional - either staff picked rooms and public rooms, or all rooms.... Maybe in emulator_settings make a table "ambassador_global" and set it to 0 = public rooms and staff picked, set it to 1 = global room controls (how i like it)

@Wesley12312 How about we get another permission for ambassadors?

acc_ambassador_rooms It will be a list of room ids, if the list contains * that means every room.

I think hotels will always have different ways of doing permissions and Arcturus should be built to allow for most common possibilities.

On Habbo it is any room. If you want to do it differently you should deal with this using a plugin (Use the room enter plugin event)

    @wesley12312

Nope. It's only for Public and Official Rooms as confirmed by my friends (two of them) who are (ex-)Ambassadors.

Also, this have been substantiated in numerous online source:

    http://habbo.gamepedia.com/Habbo_Ambassadors

Ambassadors are able to kick, mute, and alert any user in an official room. In the Moderation popup that appears when they click on a user, there is a special section for ambassador rights where they can mute or kick a user. This section only appears in official rooms, since Ambassadors don't have the ability to use their powers in guest rooms.

They can also warn, kick or mute misbehaving Habbos in public rooms.

Well, it's up to you whether to replicate how Habbo works or not.

"When the Ambassador program was released, Ambassadors were able to kick, mute and warn any Habbo in any room (Private and public). It was fixed the same day so they can only kick users in public rooms."

"What sort of powers do Ambassadors have? They have access to new-user-only lounges and can identify new users around the hotel for engagement purposes. They can also warn, kick or mute misbehaving Habbos in public rooms. "

Yep, like what @Benycodes have said too. Clearly Ambassador permissions are limited to Public and Official rooms only (as stated earlier on).

At the risk of repeating, the reason why Ambassadors do not have permission in Normal Rooms is to prevent the abuse of rights (e.g. muting or kicking people in Normal Rooms). If they have those permissions, they are effectively the same as Mods just without the Ban Commands and the ability to answer CFHs.

From what I have known, they do have the "Ambassador" option when a Avatar is clicked in Normal Rooms. However, clicking any of the functions won't do anything (same goes for their Ambassador commands in regular room - they can only mute, kick, warn users if they are in the same room as the targeted user).

But, like I say, its really up to you, @wesley12312 whether to make these changes on Arcturus since you mentioned it can be dealt via plugin. However, this would mean that the Ambassadors permission does not work exactly like Habbo (which is your ultimate goal for Arcturus).
