What License will OmniPascal use? Will it be open source or closed source? Free or paid? Can I use it now and in the future in a commercial project?

    Hi Steve!

Currently OmniPascal is a closed source freeware product. Its source code is supposed to be used in new commercial refactoring tools for Object Pascal. That's the reason for it to be closed source.

Today you can use OmniPascal for free in any project. I have absolutely NO intention to ask hobbyists for money. I'm happy for every developer who is using OmniPascal in his/her daily work. There might be an additional professional version of OmniPascal including extra features in the future. But I can't say that for sure right now as there is no final decision made.

If you use OmniPascal now in your daily work then you don't need to worry that it will stop working tomorrow or next week. I have no intention to stop people from using my software. That would be quite insane. When commercial products based on OmniPascal will be released then they will be released parallel to the free product.

I hope this answers your question. If you have still questions then please add a comment.

    Greetings Christopher
