Clicking "News" tab freezes everything [OSX]

Hey there, so I am using a Mac and everything seems to run fine in the launcher until I click the "News" tab. Once I click it, everything locks up. I can't even tab out of the game (I have to resort to pressing Mac commands that launch certain things and pull me out of the full screened game). It doesn't seem to spit out an error to me either, so I am not sure what the issue may be.
