I walk up to First Impressions and see that it is currently free. I tap the screen a few times, and lo, I have marked the room as busy for the next 30 minutes.
However, MEAT doesn't know who I am, so the calendar entry has no data.
MEAT ends the process by displaying a QR code. I whip out my QR-Enabled phone and point it at the QR Code. My phone interprets the code as a URL, and browses on over to that URL. As I'm already logged into the auth backend that MEAT uses, MEAT is immediately able to recognise who I am, and updates the calendar entry to reflect that it was me who claimed the room.
