I have archived a release. Now I am trying to reactivate it from Edit release - Release Status, changing Archived to Active. Back in the release list it is now shown, that the release is active, but when I go to an issue and try to assign an issue to this release, comes a error message, that I cannot assign an issue to an archived release.

This seems like a misunderstanding. I will add buttons to reactivate and in-release but currently this functionality is manual.

Changing the status will generally not affect the actual status of project versions. You may need to go to all project versions and make them active.
