Google Play Data Safety Form
Starting February 2022 Google is presenting a new Data safety section in the app's store listing.
Therefore developers have to fill in information in the "App Content" section of the Google Play console. April 2022 is the deadline to have your form approved.
Details, such as the use of certain user data types, may vary depending on the particular app and therefore need to be considered individually for each app.
From AddApptr's point of view, please find our guide below. AddApptr is not able to give a legally binding advice here. All selections and decisions are made in your own responsibility.
1. Navigate to "App Content"
2. Add your Privacy Policy URL
3. Select that your app contains ads
4. Fill in the app content information if it applies to your app
- App access
- Content ratings
- Target audience and content
- Sensitive permissions and APIs
- News apps
- COVID-19 contact tracing and status apps
5. Start the Data safety form
6. Data safety form: Data collection and security
7. Data safety form: Data types
Select all user data types your app may collect. For details on data types defined by Google, see here.
From AddApptr's point of view, we only need "Device or other identifiers" to use the user's Device ID for marketing and analytics purposes (in case the user consented).
8. Data safety form: Data usage and handling
Answer questions for each user data type about how the data is used and handled. In case of "Device or other identifiers" data type, you can select the following for AddApptr's usage.
9. Submit for review
When all information are completed, submit for review. You do not need to include an app update for this submission.
