Set focus on tab's window

After selecting a tab in Side Tabs, the Side Tabs window still retains focus.

This breaks my workflow because I want to click a tab and immediately close it with Cmd-W.

Can you set focus on the tab's window instead? (I'd be happy with a non-default setting, too).
