Move to Trash icon does not always change on first click in File Manager

When clicking the Move to Trash button on a thumbnail, the icon sometimes only changes on the third click. To reproduce this, I click Move to Trash on one thumbnail, then move to another and repeat the step. The second thumbnail takes 3 clicks before the icon changes.
When I show contents of Trash, it looks like the delete operation has happened after the first click even when the icon doesn’t change. But this means that the Remove from Trash button will not work until clicking another two times.
