Issue #48 open

can't open /dev/video0

Anonymous created an issue

I've installed (i guess:-) r5u87x-f65c81a1980c$ make cc -g -Wall pkg-config --cflags glib-2.0 libusb -c loader.c loader.h cc -g -Wall -o loader loader.o pkg-config --libs glib-2.0 libusb

$ sudo ./loader Searching for device... Found camera : 05ca:183a Firmware : ucode/r5u87x-05ca-183a.fw

Camera reports negative microcode state. Sending microcode to camera... Enabled microcode. Camera reports microcode version 0x0111.

Successfully uploaded firmware to device 05ca:183a!

however...

$ xawtv This is xawtv-3.95.dfsg.1, running on Linux/i686 (2.6.27-9-generic) xinerama 0: 1366x768+0+0 can't open /dev/video0: No such file or directory v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory v4l2: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory v4l: open /dev/video0: No such file or directory no video grabber device available

    Make sure that it's not loading as another device number

    1. ls /dev/video*

    If you have no video* device then after running loader and successfully loading the microcode run:

    1. rmmod uvcvideo && modprobe uvcvideo

    your /dev/video0 should appear.

    Ok,I have the same problem but reloading uvcvideo module don't resolve the issue.No video file appears on /dev .
