README for Lon

See INSTALL for installation instructions.

* What is Lon?
  Lon stands for Lua Object Notation. It is inspired by JSON, which is derived
  from JavaScript. Lon is a human readable data interchange format.

  All valid Lon strings are also valid Lua values. The reverse is not true
  however, Lon does not support functions, userdata, lightuserdata, or threads.
  Unlike JSON, Lon does support adding comments.

* Availability
  Lon is freely available for both academic and commercial purposes.
  See COPYRIGHT for details.
  Lon can be downloaded at http://bitbucket.org/alexames/lon

* Installation
  Lon is implemented in pure ANSI C, and compiles unmodified in all known
  platforms that have an ANSI C compiler. In most Unix-like platforms, simply
  do "make" with a suitable target. See INSTALL for detailed instructions.

* Origin
  Lon is based of the code base for Lua 5.1 and was developed by some guy
  in his spare time.

  Lua is developed at Lua.org, a laboratory of the Department of Computer
  Science of PUC-Rio (the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro
  in Brazil).
