    ``` The manual/example shows how to use this command and uses it successfully.
    Please do not this system for such (unspecific) requests.
    ``` Thank you for the quick reply Even I download the new zip and when I try compile classicthesis.lyx, an error appeared for the command \ctparttext.

    ``` Can you please write a bit more on the error you get. What LyX version are you using, on which operating system? Can you try commenting out or erasing every box with \ctparttext? Please make sure that you don't have installed some older version of classicthesis.sty in your LaTeX! tree! (search for all classicthesis.sty's on your system) Finally, try copying some more of the error message you get (either here or on my personal e-mail) ```
The control sequence at the end of the top line of your error message was never \def'ed. If you have misspelled it (e.g., `\hobx'), type `I' and the correct spelling (e.g., `I\hbox'). Otherwise just continue, and I'll forget about whatever was undefined."     ``` I suspect that you have an older version of classicthesis somewhere within your LaTeX installation (it's on ctan.org and is sometimes packed to LaTeX distributions). Try to find it first.
    If you can't, change a few things in RC3 as follows: --- rename classicthesis.sty to, say, CT.sty
    --- in CT.sty change \ProvidesPackage{classicthesis} to \ProvidesPackage{CT}
    --- in classicthesis-preamble.sty change \PassOptionsToPackage{eulerchapternumbers,drafting...}{classicthesis} to \PassOptionsToPackage{eulerchapternumbers,drafting...}{CT}
    --- in classicthesis-preamble.sty, at the end of the file, replace \RequirePackage{classicthesis} with \RequirePackage{CT}
    I hope this will work, as I have no other clues.
    ```

    ``` Hi! I have the same problem. There's only one version of classicthesis on my computer, latest release. I have tested with LyX 1.6.7 and 1.6.10, no difference. Windows 7 Enterprise. Seems that LyX cannot understand what the "ctparttext" command means, although it is defined in the .sty file. Any suggestion? ```
    ``` Please try compiling the attached test file(s). If you succeed, that will indicate that there IS some older version of classicthesis.sty somewhere on your system. I can see no other reason for the only new command, \ctparttext, not to work (while all the others do).

    What LaTeX distribution do you use? Maybe it has some auto-installation feature. ```

    ``` the problem is solved thank you very much for your help I find an older version in the file: C: \ MiKTeX 2.9 \ tex \ latex \ classicthesis I removed it and the error is gone thank you again for your patience The template is wonderful, great job :) ```
    ``` Thanks to Ivo for the very good ideas :-)

    We will release the official version for the distributions soon, so this error will hopefully not occur in the future.

    If you are happy with the template, please consider sending a postcard (see the manual for details). ;-) ```

    ``` I have encountered a similar problem with Lyx 2.0.0 and MacTex (using TexLive 0.91). Your fabulous LyX template requires v3.0 of classic thesis, but MacTex insists on using an older version and will not let me uninstall the version in the distribution.
    Thanks for your work! ```
    ``` This is quite frequent question from the users using Mac OS. This should help:

    either replace the existing classicthesis.sty with the one you got from the ClassicThesis-LyX.zip or copy the new one to

    [home dir] Library/texmf/tex/latex/

    You might also need to copy classicthesis-preamble.sty to the same directory. ```

    ``` I found a work around on my platform (OS/X 10.6.8) + MacTex (Tex Live 0.91) which uses an older version of classic thesis. If I include
    \newcommand{\ct@parttext}{\relax} \newcommand{\ctparttext}[1]{\renewcommand{\ct@parttext}{#1 \relax}}
    in the LaTeX preample for ClassicThesis.lyx, then everything builds fine. ```
    ``` Still, I'd recommend doing it my way, as you'll probably notice that some of the part intros now repeat (not being reset in the definition of \part). But maybe you don't need them at all --- just erase them from ClassicThesis.lyx. I'm also not sure if the marginal note (marginpar) will have classicthesis formatting. ```
