Changes in preamble.sty don't apply to output

``` hi guys i'm a new user using Lyx 2.0, i try to change some options in preamble.sty and overwrite file but output file has no changes!

I not receive any error during file creation....what is my fault? thank you! ```

``` tnx for your fast reply,i use Windows 7 64bit and i can reproduce the pdf whitout changes...i was changing only the part in which /myName,/myProf are defined...but there are no changes in output file...

Now i'm using the LateX version on TeXnicCenter and i complete these changes and others like italian language and number of pages align to right in the index (adding dot ........)

however i would like to understand my probs using Lyx because i think that it's more simple to edit the body of my thesis. ```

``` (I believe) this problem can only occur if there is some other classicthesis-preamble.sty file on your system. What happens if you delete (or move) the one you edited? LyX should report an error; if that does not happen, try looking for the file somewhere in the LaTeX paths.

``` according to your supposition i deleted classicthesis-preamble.sty but Lyx generates output....looking for other files but I didn't found anyone which name is classicthesis-preamble.sty yet...it could be named 1.otherwise?or it could be a package installed on my system...i'm looking for remove it...however I belive this will be the solution! =) ```

``` On my MiKTeX installation under WinXP it's found in C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.9\tex\latex\classicthesis That is where MiKTeX package manager installed both sty's when LyX (for some reason) could not find them. Delete only classicthesis-preamble.sty, whereever you find it. I'll talk to André to fix the problem of multiple instances of classicthesis-preamble.sty; I don't think this system directory is the right place to have it.

``` Great I finally found them! :) in Win7 the directory is C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\MiKTeX\2.9\tex\latex...now i'm deleting preamble and try to make some changes...I'll tell you my result,however I'll delete also other .sty because I want to modify some things in the graphic. ```

``` Hi Im using windows 7. I made changes to the /myName,/myTitle and etc. I've checked for other classictemplate-preamble.sty on my computer. I found just the one that I applied the changes to. I still can't see any difference when I view the output file. P.S. I'm new to Lyx. ```

``` Hi!did you found C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Roaming\MiKTeX\2.9\tex\latex\classicthesis ? AppData is an hidden directory so you have to activate the visualization of hidden files...then make your changes to files in this folder and they will apply ```
