Acronym called first in figure caption does not show full acronym

Issue #63 wontfix
Former user created an issue
1. Create an acronym in Contents.tex (\acro{DRY}{Don't Repeat Yourself} is already created)

2. Insert first acronym call \ac{DRY} in figure caption in Chapter02.tex
3. Insert acronym call \ac{DRY} after that in body of text.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
At the first call of \ac{DRY} we're supposed to see Don't Repeat Yourself (DRY)
And in the caption of the figure, only DRY shows up

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
4.1
Windows 7
TeXnicCenter

This seems to be an issue with the acronym package (not classicthesis) that also occurs
with the example file for that package (see attachments). Please contact the package
    author.
