Is there a way to use caption* in tables

Issue #90 wontfix
Former user created an issue
I wanted a table without the table number printed in the caption.

I used this approach (caption*):

http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/194310/how-to-hide-the-number-of-a-table-whilst-keeping-it-in-the-list-of-tables

But it keeps being displayed as:

Table 0.1*:
mycaption

Would this be because of somethin in the template?

    Actually, the error came because I didn' t load the captions package.

    Yet, some formatting issues occur in the lof with indentation when adding a table without
    a number, so I opted to just number the table freely:

    \renewcommand\thetable{Blub 8.3-x}

    Is this still an issue? I don't really get why not to number a table but still using
    a caption and the LoF.
