IP blacklisted because of wrong hostname

Issue #280 invalid
Daniel Rippen created an issue

Hello,

I'm having an problem with the poste.io free mailserver. At the moment there is a problem with this IP-Address. The blacklist is seen here: https://www.abuseat.org/lookup.cgi?ip=195.201.16.67 . It seems like the Server is having an issue with the hostname (which is set to "srv-06.server.rippen-ks.de") but it somehow shows as "127.0.0.1". I think that I shouldn't be the only person to have this issue..

    Hello,

"Note: 195.201.16.67 appeared to be suspicious because it was using the following name to identify itself during email connections (port 25) via the HELO/EHLO smtp commands: "[127.0.0.1]"."

It seems you have problem with something else sending emails than poste. If you have 2.0 installed please try to find log of outgoing transaction at /var/log... - there will be clearly visible which hostname is mailserver using

    Hello,

I seem to have found the problem with this one. The default hostname in the '/etc/msmtprc' file is set to 127.0.0.1. After mounting an custom version of this file with the correct hostname ('srv-06.server.rippen-ks.de') this seems to be not happening anymore. I think that poste should replace 127.0.0.1 with the main Mail hostname for this to not happen again.

    Thanks in advance.
