Push notifications not working

I am testing mail server access using a Samsung Galaxy S5 using stock mail app. Email push notifications are not working. Email will only arrive when the client checks the server at a given interval.

Is this working as intended? Or is there a way to enable push notifications?

Fixed - tested on android (create account as Exchange...)
