Backups
If this is not the place to post a question please forgive me (and direct me to the correct place!), but I would like to know how people backup their \data folder?
Currently (along with Azure VM image backup) I am also running a script to copy the contents of \data to a separate drive.
Is there a better way?

reporter I will describe my setup a little more -
Azure VM 1 drive with Ubuntu with Poste.io docker container installed 1 drive with \data folder 1 drive with \data-backup
Azure backup images the entire thing daily
Secondary backup is just a copy command to copy \data drive to \data-backup drive
The container runs the whole time this takes place

I'm also using image backups. However, for the \data folder copy I've been stopping the container (all through a scheduled job) much the same as when doing a Poste.io mailserver version upgrade. My concern with live copy would be not capturing everything in the time it takes for the copy to run.
Thank you for sharing.

reporter Yes I have thought about this too - but the backup (file copy) seems pretty quick, and doesn't seem to interfere with the live system. Also, emails appear to be individual message files on the data drive, so at worse you only miss what is delivered or deleted while the backup is in progress - so you would only miss what you would have knocking it offline. (Maybe I have this wrong? But from what I can tell this is how it works).
I am waiting until Azure Vault (File & Folder) backup comes to Linux - so I can run this along with the image. I can then do the daily file sync on the live system which will take seconds!
Maybe file copy is my only option right now?

Are you stopping the docker container before backing up the \data folder?
