Mailbox - Show account type POP/IMAP

Issue #477 new
S B created an issue

Is it possible to show if an account has authenticated using POP or IMAP in the last x days (log history limit?) - like on the email account lists does.

For example, have an IMAP and POP button/box, and highlight green if it has a valid POP connection in the last 30 days, or grey if it has not had a valid connection.

2 separate Boxes because some accounts are IMAP and POP.

This is a REALLY useful feature for us. This makes it easier when migrating email, and setting up user accounts on computers.

What if this was integrated into the last logged on date feature request? Indicating which protocol had been used to authenticate? Does that meet your requirements?

The only problem with that is the following scenarios:

    (1) User has IMAP on their PC/Phone/Tablet, but a second user connects via pop for a static copy of emails.

    (2) User has IMAP on their PC but uses POP (download last 30 days only) on their Phone in case the device is lost, it limits exposure to sensitive information

    (3) User has POP account setup on their PC but uses webmail when not in the office (webmail is via IMAP) - it would report incorrectly on the admin page

Combining it would just show the last method used to authenticate and not give a true status of the account being IMAP AND POP

    Hope this makes sense?

Yup, so I'd still say combined the two and have a last logged in (authentication) for IMAP, POP, and I'd even suggest SMTP to show usage for each account. Should be easy enough to parse the logs or track the info either way.
