Zero byte files in the queue directory cause crash loops in haraka-smtp
Issue #909
new
After a bare metal failure took down my docker containers, a number of 0 byte files were left in:
/data/queue/smtp
On restart, ‘haraka-smtp’ crash looped on these files and was unable to start properly and resume accepting connections.
Manually deleting the zero length files resolved the issue with no further action required (stopped crash looping and entered normal state).
Thank you for posting this! I hade exactly the same issue today due to a power failure and the hosting facility. Deleting the 0-Byte file in the submission queue folder fixed the problem instantly. No need to reboot the container.
