Use visual editor?

Issue #80 on hold
Peeter Tinits created an issue

This is again with the lines of keeping an inexperienced user with language skills as a main target group to motivate to write.

What are the chances of using Visual Editor (see wikipedia) or something of a kind in the interface too. I think it works really well in the current wikipedia and makes it much easier to inexperienced people who might not know how these [] brackets work.

Otherwise maybe a quick start intro to basic syntax of wikipedia might be needed too.

Currently, I think this inexperienced writer would like to write in Preview mode where you already see the pictures, and it all looks nice already. This is also something that "ContentTranslate" does better perhaps at the moment.

VisualEditor now also works in the Wikipedia Incubator. Since support for Incubator languages is one of the strongest differences between our tool and ContentTranslation, it makes little sense in not using something visual or otherwise conceived as "simpler".

I wouldn't call the visual editor simpler. The visual editor is definitely more natural, but I wouldn't call it simpler.

It might be possible to use a Java editor and convert the result to wikitext or use the visual editor from by API.

I will not implement this at this time, because it's not trivial. Will put the issue on hold so it doesn’t disappear.

Quick start might need improvements. Can you look into the existing one?
