Name keeps resetting

I started a game with a name and a nickname, kinda like all the npcs have a name and a nickname right next to it separated by a space. The game decided by itself that the name and the nickname have to be attached to each other and now everytime i go change it in the game options, after i restart the game it goes back all cramped up together. I also tried changing to a completely different name, but does it anyways.
