Bulk Edit Creator

Issue #147 resolved
Daniel Gustafson created an issue

Hi, it doesn't look like there is the ability to bulk edit the Creator of an issue. Can this be implemented as a new feature? I have an inactive user account who has created hundreds of Scheduled Issues.

Is there a different way to change the Creator? Otherwise, can this feature be implemented?

    Hi Daniel

This operation is possible to perform by JIRA administrator. I will add to our backlog to grant permissions to do this for project lead. Will let you know about progress.

So how does a JIRA admin bulk edit the "Creator" of multiple Scheduled Issues. I'm an Admin and I can only edit the Creator one Scheduled Issue at a time. If I select multiple Scheduled Issues, then click Edit Selected, the Creator field is not an option to Edit.

    Hello Brian,

    I'm sorry for the delay.

There was a mistake - it's true bulk edit of creator is not possible. This feature is possible only for edition of one issue.

We have discussed about this feature and we cannot append this feature to the scheduler plugin. It is a bit more complicated than it seems. The main problem is that new creator can have other permissions to issue fields than old creator. For this reason TSP will be not able to create issue (JIRA will not allow to create issue with specified fields for new creator), and TSP validation will lock performing creation of current issue.

So unfortunately from the above reason, the only solution is to change the creator separately for each issue.

    Sorry for inconvenience caused.

Is it possible to export the scheduled issues, change the Creator, and import them again? We are really hurting on this one as we have a couple of users who have created several hundred Scheduled Issues under their own IDs and are no longer with our company. We have spent hours trying to go through these.
