Scheduler taking too long

Issue #165 closed
jmadorma created an issue

Hi - I continuously schedule issues in JIRA (about 2000) with the scheduler add-on. Lately, it takes JIRA longer to show the newly created/scheduled issues. Can you help? I am using version 4.3.2 and have JIRA version 7.2.1. Thanks.

I am not sure who to select in the Assignee list. Since the first person probably gets chosen the most, I randomly selected the 4th in the list.

    Hi there,

Thank you for contacting us - we will take a close look at performance. For now you can try to decrease the number of visible columns - maybe it will help a bit.

    Best regards,

    Łukasz

This cut my time from over two minutes to a little under one. Thanks!

Is this simply caused by the amount of scheduled issues?

I have upgraded JIRA to 7.2.1. Now, when someone tries to pull up the list of scheduled tasks who has not limited the number of columns, the Atlassian JIRA process in Task Manager under Commons Daemon Service Runner, spikes the CPU to around 80% (keeping it there) and the JIRA server is unresponsive. I have let this run for quite some time and have to restart the Atlassian JIRA service.

Is this because of the number of scheduled tasks? If so, what is the limit that should work comfortably?

@jmadorma We just released new 4.3.4 version that should improve performance when loading Scheduled Issues table. Please give it a try!

    Best regards.

This new version works great! Pulling the list of scheduled tasks is much faster and the Commons Daemon Service Runner does not spike the CPU. No more crashing JIRA! Thanks!
