Issue #17 closed
Marko Saha created an issue

We don't want certain user-groups to see scheduled issues or create scheduled tasks. New version of TheScheduler allows all project users to see issues. Is there anyway to restrict viewing/creating scheduled issues for only Administer Projects JIRA-permission.

My suggestion is also to move Scheduled Issues tab from Project Overview to Project Administration.

    Hi 'markosa',

first of all I want to make the situation clear - the permissions for viewing and for creating are not common. Each project member is allowed to see scheduled issues but creating is possible only by users who can create standard JIRA issues in a related project.

Could you please tell me what is your current version of The Scheduler? When did you realize the behavior change, between 2.6.4 and 3.x, or between some different releases?

    Thanks for contacting, Kind regards,

    Marek

We're running JIRA 6.1.5 and TheScheduler 3.0.6. We noticed this issue in our information security audit, i.e. our customers are able to login in our JIRA, and we don't wan't them to see any scheduled issues in the project. They have permission for creating issues etc., but we wan't to hide totally TheSchduler tab in Project from them.

    Best regard,

    Marko

got the same situation. my periodic tasks can be edit by anyone. expected behaviour that only creator of periodic task can edit it, and project admin can edit all.

A vote from me as well on this. We are interested in purchasing this plugin but not being able to restrict who can create scheduled issues is simply unacceptable. I would actually prefer the old way of admins only.

Having this open to all users leaves it very open to abuse and it's impossible to track all scheduled issues in total as well. I can't have people who may not know what they are doing creating rules that could potentially spam the db with issues.

    Hello Evangelos,

Thank you for interest in our plugin. We are planning to introduce permission management for The Scheduler in the near future.

    Regards, Jacek
