Share (or import) scheduled issues across different projects

Issue #192 closed
Saba Abebe created an issue

Hi,

We have several projects that share several routine, recurring issues. Instead of creating the same scheduled issues in multiple projects, we'd like to share (or import) specific issues across select multiple projects. Does this functionality exist? Right now, I only see how to export/import all issues into their original project.

Actually there is a way allowing you to move Scheduled Issues across the projects but it doesn't work in "bulk mode".

As a JIRA administrator you could clone each Scheduled Issue and change it's project as you can see in attached screenshot:

Currently we are not planning on making any changes in that matter - that is why I will close this issue (and reopen if anything changes)

    Best regards,

    Łukasz

PS. You could try to do some trick - but I'm not sure if it is going to work - theoretically it could... so if you decide to check it please do it on some test instance. It would require 2 projects with same permissions, schema, screens, issue types etc. You could create 5 Scheduled Issues for Project A, then export them to file, create first test issue for Project B (same as for Project A) export that to file, check what are the difference between export file A and export file B, then copy remaining 4 issues from project A to project B applying changes, finally try to import that file. Maybe this will work - it have not been tested - so let me know how it went ;)
