Please, make sure to first install the OmniDriver runtime from Ocean Optics, and that this installation succeeds. I do not have an OSX machine for testing. Some time ago another user traced a similar problem to a bug in the driver itself provided by Ocean Optics. You also need to have a working installation of the rjava package which in turn requires Java installed. Please, start by making sure to have Java and the driver correctly installed and working, and the corresponding OS environment variables pointing to them. If this does not help, do please provide details of the errors you get and the versions you are trying to install of Java, R, 'rjava' and Omni Driver runtime.
