Single DBR MDX/Setting service integration

The single DBR could be much more useful it responded to setting service commands or MDX lookups. I am currently on a project where I would like to use a two (or more) next to each other displaying data from a month selection (Global Filter), as MTD and YTD next to each other (two single DBR’s with Widget filters and not Widget fixes).

The MDX resolves in an element (e.g. looking up prior month or YTD attribute), but 0 values are returned because the Month has to be in Widget Fixes.
