Dropdown menu formatting in v2.2.1

I noticed a cosmetic issue with the new dropdown menus in v2.2.1. It appears it uses the hands-on-table Excel-like "blue box", which shows up when you expand/collapse a hierarchy. You also able to drag this border.

Also noticed that the dropdowns now have a lot of empty white space below the elements, especially apparent when there are only a few elements in the dropdown. Is it possible to minimize the white space?

Both are more cosmetic issues but fixing them can make the user experience a bit better. Thanks!
