Text box widget not working with alternative hierarchies

Describe the bug
When using a text box widget the input is not stored against the element of the alternative hierarchy but only against the last selected element of the standard hierarchy.

Expected behavior
Input is stored against the element of the alternative hierarchy.

Additional context
If you turn on edit mode in the dashboard with text box and alternative hierarchy the screen literally begins to shake.
