Configuring dimensions to point to a Subset uses TM1SubsetToSet and returns Private subsets only
Using the User’s Private subsets is expected behaviour when a Private and Public set with the same name exists e.g. Default.
Referencing Private aligns to Perspectives behaviour.
When accessing the Subset Editor, only One of the subsets is shown, not the Private and Public.
You thus cannot select the Public set to be used in your Settings/Rows/Columns.
Similar issue if you click on the dimension when configuring the view then drop down on the subset list-only one instance of the subset is shown.
To work around this right now, you need to copy the generated MDX when the subset is selected, change the List Type to MDX then paste in the copied MDX and add another parameter for Public, after the subset name.
