When Sort by Date, Summation Field messed up

When the Date is sorted, the summation field is weirdly placed at the middle of the table.

Although it might be “weird” this is expected behaviour. The sorting applies to the table contents and treats all row headers as equal or flat. The sorting is happening on the principal name so this is just givingh a normal alpha-numeric sort. Taking some examples from the screenshot you attached and what I imagine the principal names of the elements might be I have recreated the example in Excel and applied the same sort and you get the same result.
