Selecting / clearing out inputs for entire row

Issue #523 new

This would be a nice feature for enhancing the user experience when inputting values. Often, inputs are put in for multiple columns and could require some horizontal scrolling. If the user wants to clear out all the input values on a selected row, there isn’t currently a reliable/simple mechanism for doing so.

The user would either need to (1) hold down the SHIFT key and keep tapping the right cursor button or (2) use the mouse and drag across. If the Excel-like row header numbers are exposed, the user could select the entire row by clicking on this header. However, clicking the DELETE key would only work in clearing the input cells if there are no rule-calculated cells on the row. When rule-calculated cells exist, the cells initially appear to clear out but will show up again on refresh.

It would be great to have a simpler way to clear out the cells in a particular row that is a bit simpler for the end-user to encourage direct input on Apliqo screens.

If input on consolidations is enabled for the table and there is a cell on the row that represents the sum then you should just be able to enter 0 or c in that cell and thereby clear the entire row.

However, I believe that we should also be supporting standard spreading shortcuts and it appears that we aren’t (e.g. “r>0” or “c>” should both clear all cells to the right and including the entry cell). We will create a card to close this gap given that this is supported in Arc.
