Pop-up disappears after clicking

Issue #53 resolved
Former user created an issue

I have two questions about SelectionSK. 1. How to make pop-up not hiding after clicking? 2. I have one favicon not showing correctly. How to solve this problem? (Please see attachment) Thank you.

    1. Keep popup open is not standard behavior and i got a hard time trying to imagine why it is needed. Standard behavior is, for instance, context menu - it disappears after click on menu item. SelectionSK emulates this behavior, but without a need for right mouse button click. Could you please provide examples why you need to keep popup open?
On top of it there is an option to keep selection, you can enable it in the preferences.
    2. Extension and browser have different permissions, not every icon can be resolved. Can you please provide full URL of the site? I’ll workaround icon issue.

    1. I need to keep popup open as I want to search the selected words by different search engines. If the popup doesn’t hide after clicking, I can click another search icon.
    2. The site url is https://www.mouser.com/

By the way, is it possible to add a new feature of copy & paste as described in the article of an extension? I know SelectionSK has copy function, but there’s no paste when cursor stays in text area.

    Thank you.

    1. Interesting. First, I think it only make sense if new pages opened in a background. Second, I have old request to have an option ‘open all urls in the folder' (similarly to 'open all in tabs' when selection has more than one URL) - I guess it can partially solve reported issue, please let me know what do you think, I’ll research on the best solution.
    2. I am setting up own server for search for the best icons, change will be released soon.

Just for s note, FF has paste-on-middle-button function, see https://bitbucket.org/ashemetov/selectionsk/wiki/FAQ#!remind-me-how-to-enable-middle-mouse-paste-in-firefox, Chrome can get similar functionality with extensions. Anyway, I’ll take a look onto provided article.

    1. Whether search is opened in background or not, popup won’t be closed. Users can browser the opened tab after clicking and come back to this tab to click other search engines if they need. I found that an extension named Selection Search has this feature.

About copy/paste, I hope to accomplish this function via popup rather than a mouse button or a keyboard key.

I’ve added an option for keep popup open after action taken, will release next week.

Similar option added to the sister extension SearchSK, also will be released next week.
